299 Rowles of Ann Arundel County for divers good causes and considerations them thereunto moving have and by these presents do manumit and set free from slavery their negro man called Thomas Harwood aged about thirty one years hereby declaring him to be absolutely free. Given under their hands and seals the fourth day of march eighteen hundred and fifteen Signed Sealed and delivered John Rowles (seal) by J Rowles in the his presence of David + Rowles (seal) Owen Dorsey Fielder Israel On the back of the aforegoing was thus endorsed to wit Baltimore County ss On the fourth day of march 1815 before the subscriber a Justice of the peace for said County personally appeared John Rowles one of the parties to the aforegoing deed of manumission and acknowledged the same to be his act and Owens Dorsey Anne Arundel County ss On the 18th of march 1815 before the subscriber a Justice of the peace for said County came David Rowles one of the parties to the aforegoing deed of manumission and acknowledged the same to be his act and deed Ex.d d.d Ch.s Waters p.d 2 Recorded the 17.th day of April 1815 Know all men by these presents that I George Dorsey of Anne Arundel County and State of Maryland beleveing that natural freedom is |
