292 At the foot and on the back of the aforegoing was thus written to wit: Received on the day of the above date the sum of one dollar it being the consideration money of the foregoing deed and in full for the same Test Nicholas Norman Sam.l Gott Anne Arundel County Sc.t Be it remembered that on this thirteenth day of December eighteen hundred and fourteen appears Nicholas Norman party in the foregoing instrument of writing before me the subscriber a Justice of the peace for the County aforesaid and acknowledges the foregoing deed to be his act and deed for the purposes therein mentioned and the said negro man therein named to be from and after the end of the natural life of him the said Nicholas Norman manumitted set free and discharged from all manner of slavery servitude or service to the heirs executors or administrators of him the said Nicholas Norman forever according to the force form tenor and effect of the act of Assembly in such case made and provided Ex.d d.d Sam.l Gott paid 3¼ Recorded the 10.th day of March 1815 To all whom it may concern be it Known that I William Alexander of the City of Annapolis in the State of Maryland for divers good causes and considerations me thereunto moving as also in further consideration of one dollar current money to me in hand paid have released from slavery liberated manumitted and set free my negro man |
