To all whom it may concern  Be it Known that we
John Smith and Lucy Smith of Anne Arundel County
in the State of Maryland for divers good causes and
considerations us thereunto moving as also in
further consideration of one dollar current money
to us in hand paid have released from slavery
liberated manumitted and set free and by these
presents do hereby release from slavery liberate
manumit and set free our negro woman
named Jenny being of the age of thirty years and
able to work and gain a sufficient livelihood
and maintenance and her the said negro woman
Jenny we do declare to be henceforth free
manumitted and discharged from all manner
of servitude or service to us our Executors or
administrators forever.  In witness whereof we
have hereunto set our hands and affixed our
seals this 27.th day of June one thousand eight
hundred and fourteen                        his

Geo.e A. Wells                           Lucy + Smith   (seal)

On the back of the aforegoing was thus endorsed to wit:
Rec.d on the day of the date above mentioned the
sum of one dollar being the consideration money
above mentioned                              his

                                                         her
                                                 Lucy + Smith
                                                        mark

Anne Arundel County Sc.t  On this twenty seventh
day of June 1814 personally appears John Smith
and Lucy Smith parties to the within instrument
