274 On the back of the aforegoing was thus endorsed to wit: Anne Arundel County to wit: On this 18th day of May 1814 personally appears Sarah Riggs party to the within instrument of writing before me the subscriber a Justice of the peace for the County aforesaid and acknowledges the same to be her act and deed for the purposes therein mentioned and the several negroes within named to be henceforth manumitted and discharged from all services to her or any claiming under her according to the conditions therein stipulated and to the act of assembly in such cases made and provided Ex.d Acknowledged before paid W.m P. Mathews 3½ Recorded the 2.d day of June 1814 Know all men by these presents that I Walter Wyvill of Anne Arundel County for and in consideration of the sum of two hundred dollars current money to me in hand paid by Samuel Burgess of the same County at or before the ensealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof I the said Walter Wyvill do hereby acknowledged have granted bargained and sold and by these presents do grant bargain and sell unto the said Samuel Burgess his executors administrators and assigns one negro man named George aged thirty six years.
