267 To all whom it may concern Be it Known that I Sarah Riggs of Anne Arundel County State of Maryland for divers good causes and considerations me thereunto moving as also for the further consideration of the sum of five shillings to me in hand paid do hereby release from slavery liberate manumit and set free the following negroes to wit: Bet aged forty two years together with her four children viz Sampson aged fifteen years Frederick aged fourteen years Slyvia aged ten years and David aged seven years all of whom are healthy and able to gain a livelihood and maintenance: and the said negroes Bett Sampson Frederick Sylvia and David I do hereby declare shall henceforth be free manumitted and discharged that is to say Bet from and after the date hereof and her four children on each and every of them arriving at the age of thity years or at my decease which soever may first happen and each and every of them are hereby at such periods released from all servitude or service to me my executors or administrators forever according to the before mentioned conditions.
