Ridgely (seal) in the presence of us Ann Ridgely Arch.d Dorsey On the back of the aforegoing was thus endorsed to wit Received on the day of the above date one dollar current money the consideration money in the above deed of manumission mentioned Witness Sophia G. Ridgely (seal) A Dorsey Anne Arundel County sc.t Be it remembered that on this eighteenth day of February in the year 1813 personally appears Sophia G. Ridgely party to the within instrument of writing before me the subscriber a Justice of the peace for said County and acknowledge the same to be her act and deed for the purposes therein mentioned and the female negroes therein named with their issue if any they should have to be from and after the times therein mentioned manumitted and discharged from all manner of servitude or service to her or any claiming under her and to be thenceforth free and manumitted according to the true intention and meaning thereof and of the act of assembly in such cases made and provided Chd Acknowledged before Archibald Dorsey 6¾ Recorded the 21.st day of February 1814 |
