234 discharge and set free my negro woman named Anna about forty years of age strong and healthy now living in Annapolis and the wife of a black free man called William Bowser. As also I hereby manumit set free and discharge her son James a strong healthy boy of the age of twelve years the said James to be under the care guardianship and protection of his said Father and Mother until he attains the age of twenty one years In Witness whereof I have hereto set my hand and seal at Annapolis aforesaid this seventh day of January one thousand eight hundred and fourteen Signed Sealed and delivered Philip B.
