204 of Assembly in such case made and provided Ch.d acknowledged before Rich.d Merriken 2½ Recorded the 19.th day of January 1813 To all whom it may concern Be it Known that I George Wells of Anne Arundel County in the State of Maryland for divers good causes and considerations me thereunto moving as also in further consideration of five shillings current money to me in hand paid have released from slavery liberated manumitted and set free and by these presents do hereby release from slavery liberate manumit and set free from and after the respective days and times hereinafter mentioned my negro slaves hereinafter mentioned to wit: my negro man Jasper aged thirty two years from and after the twenty fifth day of December in the year eighteen hundred and twenty five my negro man named Joe aged thirty years from and after the twenty fifth day of December in the year eighteen hundred and twenty six my negro man named Tom aged seventeen years from and after the twenty fifth day of December in the year eighteen hundred and twenty eight my negro man named James aged twenty eight years from and after the twenty fifth day of December in the year eighteen hundred and twenty five the said negro men being able to work and gain a sufficient livelihood and maintenance and them the said negro men named |
