2 Maryland Anne Arundel county Sc.t Whereas John Ridout Esquire late of the city of Annapolis deceased in his life time on or about the twenty ninth day of December in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and eighty six by a certain writing under his hand and seal and duly recorded amongst the records of anne arundel county court but executed only in the presence of one witness and not acknowledged did manumit liberate and set free or intended so to be a mulatto Girl by the name of Harriott Jackson then about six years of age daughter of a mulatto woman named Charity and which said Harriot Jackson has since intermarried with one William Calder by whom she has three children named James Ann and William And whereas the said John Ridout Esquire in his life time on or about the ninth day of april in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and ninety one by a certain other writing under his hand and seal and duly acknowledged and recorded amongst the record of anne arundel county court aforesaid but executed only in the presence of one witness did manumit liberate and set free or intended so to do a mulatto Girl named Mary Folks then about two years and six months old daughter of a mulatto man and woman by the name of Thomas and Charity Folks And whereas m.rs mary Ridout widow of the said John Ridout Esquire on or about the sixth day of December in the year of our lord one thousand seven hundred and ninety seven by a certain writing |
