on the back of the aforegoing was thus endorsed
to Wit

    Ann Arundel County ss
          Be it remembered that on this Ninth day
of June in the Year of our Lord one thousand
eight hundred and twelve personally appears
before me Charles Water party to the aforegoing
instrument of writing before me the
subscriber a Justice of the peace of the
state of Maryland for the said County and acknowledged
the same to be his act and Deed
for the purposes within mentioned and the negroes
therein named to be free and manumitted agreeably
to the said instrument of writing and
according to the act of assembly in such
cases made and provided

To all whom it my Concern be it known
that I Ruthy Davis of the city of Annapolis
in the state of Maryland for divers good causes
