194 emancipation herein before mentioned provided always ^and^ in case any of the above enumerated negroes shall run away or be guilty of any crime or gross misconduct it shall and may be lawful for the master or mistress thereof to apply to any two Justices of the Peace of the County wherein he or she may reside who are hereby authorized and empowered to adjudge and determine what length of time such negro or negroes shall serve his said owner after the arrival of the period of his emancipation as aforesaid and such determinations and adjudications may be renewed from time to time upon the commission of every new offence and the said negroes respectively shall serve their said owners dureing the period or periods of service adjudged as aforesaid in the same manner as if these presents had never been executed and provided also in case any of the aforementioned female negroes shall hereafter have children born after the date hereof such child or children if males shall serve the owner of the mother at the time parturition for the term of thirty one Years and if females shall serve the owner of the mother at the time of parturition |
