178 further consideration of five shillings current money to me in hand paid have released from slavery liberated manumitted and set free and by these presents do hereby release from slavery liberate manumit and set free my negro man named Sam otherwise Known by the name of Vachel being of the age of thirty four years or thereabouts and able to work and gain a sufficient livelihood and maintenance and him the said negro man named Sam alias Vachel I do declare to be henceforth free manumitted and discharged from all manner of servitude or service to me my executors or administrators forever Also for the consideration above mentioned have released from slavery liberated manumitted and set free my negro man named John otherwise called John Cooke aged about twenty years or thereabouts and able to work and gain a sufficient livelihood and maintenance and him the said negro man named John alias John Cooke I do declare to be free manumitted and discharged from all manner of servitude or service to me my executors or administrators forever after the expiration of four years from this date.
