160 Maryland Ss.t To all whom these presents shall come Greeting I William Deal of Anna Arundel County & State aforesaid for divers good causes and considerations me thereunto moving do hereby free manimit and enfranchise the negro following to wit. Maria aged about twenty four to be free in eighteen years commencing from first day of Jany eighten and eleven and in case she shood have any increase during her servitude the males to be free at the age of twenty five and the females to be free at the age of twenty one and so down to the latest generation. Hereby acknowledging the said negro discharged from all claim of service and right of property whatever from me my heirs executors or administrators. As witness my hand and seal this 17.th day of Aug.t in the year of our blessed Lord one thousand eight hundred and eleven Sign.d Sealed and acknowledged William Deale (seal) in the presence of Joseph Toy Jonathan N.
