Maryland Ss.t   To all whom these presents shall
come Greeting  I William Deal of Anna Arundel
County & State aforesaid for divers good causes and
considerations me thereunto moving do hereby free
manimit and enfranchise the negro following
to wit.  Maria aged about twenty four to be
free in eighteen years commencing from first
day of Jany eighten and eleven and in case she
shood have any increase during her servitude
the males to be free at the age of twenty five and
the females to be free at the age of twenty one and
so down to the latest generation.  Hereby acknowledging
the said negro discharged from all claim of service
and right of property whatever from me my heirs
executors or administrators.  As witness my hand
and seal this 17.th day of Aug.t in the year of our
blessed Lord one thousand eight hundred and eleven

At the foot of the aforegoing was thus written to wit
A A County to wit.  August 17.th 1811 then came
William Deal before me the subscriber one of the
Justice of the peace for the County afoursaid and
acknowledged the above to be his act and deed
for the true purpose and meaning thereof and
the acts of Assembly in such cases made and
provided            acknowledged before
