93 for the purposes within mentioned and the negro woman within named to be henceforth manumitted and discharged from all services to him, or to any claiming under him and to be free and manumitted according to the act of assembly in such cases made and provided acknowledged before Recorded 30.th October 1801 Allen Quynn Ex.d
slave called Benjamin or Ben Hanson has evinced I do hereby manumit set free and discharge from my service and the service of all claiming under me the said negroe Slave Benjamin or Ben from the first day of October in the year of our Lord eighteen hundred and nine after which day I do hereby for myself and all claiming under me release and discharge the said Benjamin or Ben Hanson from slavery In witness whereof I hereunto set my hand and seal this 30th day of October in the year of our Lord eighteen hundred and one Signed Sealed and delivered Walter Dulany (seal) In the presence of James Mackubin Robert Welch Jun.r On the back of the aforegoing was thus endorsed Viz.t Ann Arundel County to wit, on the thirtieth day of Oct.r Came before me the subscriber a Justice of the peace for the said County Walter Dulany and acknowledged the above instrument of writing as his act and deed for the purposes therein mentioned acknowledged before James Mackubin Recorded 3rd November 1801 |
