negro Man called Vachel about fifty years old and also my mulatto Man called Anthony Nicols aged about forty five and do for myself my Executors and Administrators release unto the aforesaid negroes all my right whatsoever declaring the said negroes absolutely free from the date hereof without any interruption from me or any persons claiming under me In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this Eleventh day of May eighteen hundred and one Signed Sealed & Delivered Henry Maynadier (Seal) in presence of James Mackubin Robert Welch Jun On the back of the aforegoing was thus endorsed Viz.t Ann Arundel County to wit On the Eleventh day of May eighteen hundred and one Henry Maynadier appeared before me the subscriber one of the Justices of the peace for the County aforesaid and acknowledged the within instrument of writing to be his Act and Deed and the negroes above mentioned to be manumitted and free according to the Act of Assembly in that Case made & provided Recorded 18 May 1801 James Mackubin |
