71 peace for the County aforesaid and jointly & severally acknowledged the within Instrument of writing as & for their Act and Deed according to the true intent & meaning thereof and the form and effect of the Act of Assembly in such Case made and provided taken before Recorded 9th October 1800 Jn.o Gibson
have manumitted and set free my negro boy John the son of negro Nanny who was manumitted by my Father from all Service and Slavery whatever Declaring the said negro boy by these presents to be a freeman to all intents and purposes from the date hereof In witness whereof I the said John Philemon Paca have hereunto set my hand & seal this fifteenth in the year of our Lord eighteen hundred Signed Sealed & Delivered in the presence of John P. Paca (Seal) G Duvall Henry Child On the back of the aforegoing was thus endorsed Vizt Maryland sct On the 15th August in the year of our Lord eighteen hundred Came John Philemon Paca before me one of the Judges of the general Court and Acknowledged the within Instrument of writing to be her Act and Deed and the negro boy therein named to be manumitted and set free and from the date thereof to be a freeman to all intents and purposes whatever Taken and Certified by me G Duvall Recorded 27.th September 1800 |
