6 March 17.th 1797 Then Came before me one of the Justices of the peace for Annl County Samuel Peaco and acknowledged the above Instrument of writing to be his Act and Deed for the uses and purposes therein mentioned Jn.o Brice Recorded 17 March 1797
Maryland for divers good Causes & Considerations me thereunto moving Do hereby Declare free manumit and enfranchise the following negro to wit, David about thirty six years of age to be free on the day of my Death hereby acknowledging the said negro David Discharged from all Claim of Service & right of property whatever from me my heirs Executors and Administrators in the manner and from as above mentioned As witness my hand and Seal this 12 day of april 1796 Signed Sealed & Delivered her in the presence of Sarah x Gardner (Seal) Jerningham Drury mark Ann Arundel County sct On the twenty first day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred & ninety seven personally appeared before me the subscriber one of the Justices of the peace for the County aforesaid the above named Sarah Gardner party to the above Instrument of writing who Acknowledged the said Instrument to be here Act & Deed & the Signature & Seal thereof annexed to be respectively hers Acknowledged before Saml Harrison Recorded 8 april 1797 |
