55 absolutely free without any interruption from me or any person Claiming under me In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand & seal this twelfth day of the ninth month in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred & ninety nine Sealed & Delivered in the presence of Mary Harrison (Seal) Tho.s Norris of Thos Eleanor Harrison On the back of the aforegoing was thus endorsed Viz.t Ann Arundel County to wit, on the fourteenth day of September 1799 Mary Harrison personally appeared before the subscriber one of the Justices of the peace for the County aforesaid & acknowledged the within instrument of writing to be her Act and Deed according to Law Acknowledged before Ja.s Disney Recorded 16 September 1799
the State of Maryland for divers good Causes and Considerations me thereunto moving do hereby Declare free manumit and enfranchise the negro following to wit, one negro Girl named Sarah aged nine to be free the first day of January 1809 hereby acknowledging the said negro Discharged from all Claim of Service; |
