State of Maryland anne arundel county Sc.t
       I Nicholas Harwood Clerk of anne arundel county
Court.  Do hereby certify that it appears by a deed of
manumission from Betty Green to negro John Green bearing
date the thirteenth day of april eighteen hundred &
seven and recorded amongs the records of ann arundel
county court that the said negro John Green is about
forty five years of age at this time is to be free from
the date of the said Manumission he is about five feet
high his complexion dark was raised in anne arundel
county Edward E. Anderson of said county made
oath before James H Marriott a Justice of the
peace for the county aforesaid that the said negro
man named John Green is the identical person
mentioned in the said deed of manumission
          Issued the 5.th may 1807

I Nicholas Harwood clerk of anne arundel county court Hereby certify
that it appears by a deed of Manumission executed by
Joseph Cowman of the county aforesaid bearing date on
the 22.d day of the third month in the year of our Lord one
thousand seven hundred and eighty two & recorded amongs
the records of ann arundel county court af.d that freedom was
thereby granted unto a negro woman by the name of
Nanny stated to be then of the age of 11 years which s.d freedom was
to take place when the s.d negro woman Nanny should arrive to the age of 18
years         I further certify that a negro woman nam.d Nanny now present
& who has made appli.n to me for a certificate of her freedom now passed by
testimony ^which is^ satisy to me that she is the identical person who was
manum.d by the ab.e men.d deed of manu.n the said negro woman named
Nanny is about five feet three inches high & app.s to be ab.t 39 ys of age
she is of a very dark complexion nearly black and was raised in
the afores.d county
          Iss.d the 7.th day of may 1807
