21 proved by Testimony which is Satisfactory to me that she is the daughter of the above mentioned Lucy Organs otherwise Called Lucy Hawkins who obtained her freedom against James Williams as above mentioned the said Hagar is about five feet one inch high of the age of about sixteen years of a dark Complexion and was born and raised in the City of annapolis in the County of Anne Arundel aforesaid and has a scar on her forehead on the side of her head Issued the 12th day of may 1807 Anne Arundel County Sc.t I Hereby Certify that it appears by a deed of manumission from William Weems to Negro samuel aged about fifty four years bearing date the twenty eighth day of march one thousand seven hundred and ninety one and recorded amongst the records of anne arundel county court that the said negro Samuel was to be free from the date of the said manumission that he is about five feet two or three inches high his complexion black was raised on Herring Bay in Anne Arundel County James N Weems of anne arundel County made oath before Gideon White a Justice of the peace of the County aforesaid that the said Negro Samuel is the identical person mentioned in the said deed of manumission Issued the 17th day of march 1807 |
