3 me thereunto moving Declare free manumit Liberate and enfrancise the Negroes following to wit, Ruth Aged about twenty to be free on the fifth day of February seventeen hundred and ninety seven And Whereas I executed a former manumission for emancipation of several Negroes to wit Daniel, Levi, Jem and Hilliary I do hereby these presents make good and valid said manumission to wit, Daniel to be free on the twenty fifth day of December seventeen hundred and ninety eight, Levi to be free on the twenty fifth day of December eighteen hundred and nine Jem to be free on the twenty fifth day of December eighteen hundred and ten, Hilliary to be free on the twenty fifth day of December eighteen hundred and Eleven hereby Acknowledging each and every of the above named Negroes forever Discharged from all Claim of Service and right of property from me my heirs Executors Administrators and assigns agreeably to the Conditions and several dates aforesaid In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my Seal this third day of February Anno Domini seventeen hundred and ninety seven Test John Randall Charles Drury Jerningham Drury (seal) Ann Arundel County sct On the third day of February Anno Domini seventeen hundred and ninety seven personally appeared before me the subscriber one of the Justices of the peace for the County aforesaid Jerningham Drury party to the within Instrument of writing and Acknowledged the same to be his Act and Deed & the signature & Seal thereof affixed to be respectively his for the use and purpose therein mentioned Recorded 2.d February 1797 John Randall |
