264 before the subscriber one of the Justices of the peace for said County nd Acknowledges the same to be his act and deed for the purposes therein mentioned and the negro Girl within named to be henceforth manumitted and discharged from all services to him or to any Claiming under him and to be free and manumitted according to the Act of Assembly in such Case made & Provided Acknowledged before Gideon White Recorded 31st January 1806 Examd To all persons to whom these presents may concern Know ye that I Richard Darnall of Portland Manor of Ann Arundel County for divers good Causes and Considerations have Emancipated and Set in full liberty and Freedom the following Negroes To wit Nathaniel James and Benjamin James and by these presents to Emancipate and Sett in full Liberty and Freedom the said Negroes Nathaniel James and Benjamin James and each and every of them and I the said Richard Darnall for myself my Executors and Administrators do hereby forever Relinquish and Release to the said Nathaniel James and Benjamin James (and) |
