210 to the true intent and meaning thereof and according to an act of Assembly in Such case made & provided Acknowledged before Benj.a Allein Recorded 27th Novr 1804 Ex.a To all whom it may concern be it known that I Mary Ridout of Anne Arundel County in the State of Maryland for divers good causes and consideration me thereunto moving as also in further consideration of five shillings current money to me in hand paid have released from Slavery liberated manumitted and set free and by these presents do hereby release from Slavery liberate manumit and Set free my negro man named Jack Richardson being of the age of twenty years and able to work and gain a sufficient livelihood and maintainance and him the said negro man named Jack Richardson I do declare to be henceforth free manumitted and discharged from all manner of servitude or Service to me my Executors or administrators forever In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my Seal this 30th day of November one thousand eight hundred and four Signed Sealed & delivered In the presence of us Mary Ridout (seal) Lewis Duvall Jo H Clements |
