John, Sarah, Mary, Harriot and Nancy and
George discharged from all Claim of Service and
right of property whatever from me my heirs
Executors or Administrators  As witness my hand &
Seal this twenty third day of January in the year 1798
Witness the words & George
being first interlined in two           Jacob Forty   (seal)
places before signing & Sealing

       Robert Welch

On the back of the aforegoing was thus endorsed Vizt
Ann Arundel County sct on the 23d day of Jan.y 1798
personally appeared before me the subscriber one
of the Justices of the peace for the County aforesaid
Jacob Forty party to the within Instrument of writing
and acknowledged the same to be his Act and Deed
for the uses and purposes therein mentioned

Sundry negroes
 Maryland sct  To all whom these

presents shall come Greeting
I Thomas Whittington of Ann Arundel County in the
state aforesaid for divers good Causes & Considerations
me thereunto moving do hereby Declare free
manumit and enfranchise the Negroes following to wit
Dinah to be free from the date hereof Cezar aged
about thirty eight years to be free in three years from
the Date hereof Margaret aged eighteen years
Mary aged twelve years both to be free at the age
of twenty seven years and if one or both of those
