194 Maryland Sc.t To all whom these presents shall come Greeting I Thomas Lewis of Anne Arundel County in the State of Maryland for divers good Causes and Considerations me thereunto moveing do hereby declare Free manumit and Enfranchise the negro following to wit Subbro aged about forty years to be free And I do discharge her from all servitude and forever Quit claim to all right and title to her from me my Heirs Executors and Administrators forever In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and Seal this seventeenth day of July one thousand Eight Hundred and four Witness Thomas Lewes (seal) Joseph Selby John Merriken On the back of the aforegoing was thus endorsed to wit Anne Arundel County to wit On the 17 Day of July 1804 Thomas Lewes personally appeared before me one of the subscriber one of the Justices of the peace of the County aforesaid and acknowledged the above Instrument of writing to be his Act and Deed according to the true intent and meaning thereof Joseph Selby Recorded 21.st July 1804 |
