186 On the back of the aforegoing was thus endorsed Viz.t On the seventeenth day of March eighteen hundred and four personally appeared before me the subscriber one of the Justices of the peace for Ann Arundel County Gideon White party to the within instrument of writing who acknowledged the same to be his act and deed and the signature and seal thereto annexed to be respectively his Lewis Duvall Recorded the 23rd day of May 1804 Maryland fs.t To all whom these presents shall come Greeting: I Seth Sweetzer of the City of Annapolis in Anne Arundel County and State of Maryland for divers good causes and considerations me thereunto moving do hereby declare free manumit and enfranchise my negro man Dick being about the age of forty years on the 15.th day of June 1807 Hereby acknowledging the said negro man Dick discharged from all claim of service and right of property whatever from me my heirs executors or administrators from the said 15.th day of June 1807. Witness my hand and seal this 24.th day of May 1804 Signed Sealed and delivered In the presence of Lewis Duvall Seth Sweetzer (seal) J. H.
