Dorsey Peregrine Welch On the back of the aforegoing was thus endorsed Vizt Anne Arundel County On the 2 November 1803 the within mentioned Philip Hammond came before me one of the Justices of the peace for the county afsd and acknowledged the within instrument of writing to be his act and deed and the negroes therein mentioned to be free acknowledged before me the date as above H. H. Dorsey Recorded 21.st March 1804 State of fs.t To whome these presents shall come Greeting I David Weems of Ann Arundel County in the State aforesaid for divers good causes and considerations I thereunto moving do hereby free manumit and enfranchise the negroe man following to wit William to be free the twentieth day of April Eighteen hundred and four Hereby acknowledging the said negroe man discharged from all claims of service and right of property whatever from me my heirs executors and administrators As |
