On the back of the aforegoing was thus endorsed Viz.t
On the 3.d day of December 1803 Miss Elizabeth Gassaway
came before me a Justice of the peace for Baltimore
County & acknowledged the above to be her act
& deed according to the true intent and meaning
thereof                        acknowledged before
                                           Wm Russell

State of Maryland to wit   I Certify that William
Russell Esq   whose name is subscribed to the
above acknowledgment was at the time of
subscribing and taking the same a Justice
of the peace for Baltimore County duly
appointed commissioned and authorized
and that to all acts by him done in that capacity
full faith and credit are and ought to be given
In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my
hand this twelfth day of December eighteen
hundred and Three
                               Ninian Pinkney
                               Clerk of the Council
Recorded the 12.th day of December 1803

Lucy aged about fifteen years to be free in the
