163 on this 24.th day of September Eighteen hundred and Three Came the within named Nicholas Merriweather before me the subscriber a Justice of peace for the County aforesaid and acknowledged this instrument to be his act and deed according to the true intent and meaning thereof acknowledged before Walter Worthington Recorded the 29.th day of October 1803
me thereunto moving do hereby declare free manumit and enfranchise the following negroes to wit Charles Commonly called Charles Will to be free from the date hereof Nead to be free 25 December 1813 Grace to be free 25 December 1818 Robert to be free 25.th December 1814 Charety to be free 25.th December 1821 Kitty to be free 25.th December 1817 Anthoney to be free 25.th December 1822 Jack to be free 25.th December 1822 Fanny to be free 25.th December 1822 Hereby acknowledging the said Negro's discharged from all claim of service and right of property from me my heirs executors or administrators affter the time mentioned above But in case any of the females have children before they are free these children shall serve the |
