159 the further consideration of five shillings current money to me in hand paid have released from slavery liberated manumitted and set free my negro man named Tom at the expiration Twenty years from this date being at this time about twenty two years of age and by these presents do declare the said negro Tom to be free at the expiration of the time aforesaid from all manner of servitude to me my executors or administrators forever. In Testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this thirteenth day October in the year of our lord one Thousand eight hundred and Three Signed Sealed and delivered In the presence of Howard Duvall (seal) Lewis Duvall John H. Clements on the back of the aforegoing was thus endorsed Vizt A. A. County Viz.t On the 13th day of Oct.r 1803 Howard Duvall personally appeared before the subscriber a Justice of the peace for said County and acknowledged the above instrument of writing to be his act and deed according to the act of assembly in such Case made and provided acknowledged before Lewis Duvall Recorded the 14th day of October 1803
