Dorsey On the back of the aforegoing was thus endorsed Viz.t Ann Arundel County to wit On this nineteenth day of August 1803 came Nicholas Mathews before me the subscriber a Justice of peace for County afs.d and acknowledged the within instrument of writing to be his act and deed and the negro therein named to be absolutely free according to the true intent and meaning of the same instrument of writing and the law in that Case made and provided acknowledged before Walter Worthington Recorded the 19.th day of September 1803
