132 seventeenth day of January one Thousand Eight hundred and Three Signed Sealed and delivered In Presence of Ben.tt Darnall (seal) Sam Harrison David Steuart On the back of the aforegoing was thus endorsed Viz.t On the 17.th Day of January 1803 in the year of our lord Personally appeared Bennett Darnall party to the within Deed before me one of the Justices of Anne Arundel County and acknowledged the same to be his act and deed to and for the use and purposes therein mentioned and agreeable to the form of the act of assembly in such case made and Provided acknowledged before Samuel Harrison 3¾ Recorded the 18.th January 1803 Ex.d Maryland Sc.t Know all Men by these presents that I John Welch of Anne Arundel County and State aff.d for the consideration of the sum of twenty pounds Current money to me in hand paid by Susanna Hawkins do by these presents manumit and set free the said Susanna Hawkins and her female child called Rachel at the time of the sealing of these presents they being of Healthy constitutions and sound of mind & Body and capable by labour to procure themselves sufficient food and raiment with all other requisite necessarys of life and not exceeding fifty years of age In witness whereof I have hereunto set my Hand and seal this Eleventh day of February in |
