Liberated and set free and by these presents do manumit Liberate and set free my negro Man Slave Jocky and I do hereby Acquit and Discharge the same from all Claims and obligations & service whatever and I do hereby relinquish and absolutely release all right and Title of property in and to the said Slave In witness whereof I have hereto set my hand and affixed my Seal this twenty sixth day of November in the year seventeen hundred and Ninety six Signed Sealed & Delivered in presence of Henry H. Dorsey (Seal) James Kelso Thomas Kelso Ann Arundel County sct On this twenty sixth day of November in the year 1796 Came before me the Subscriber a Justice of the peace for the County aforesaid Henry Hall Dorsey party to the within Deed of manumission who duly acknowledged the same to be his proper Act according to the true intent and operation of the same and the Negro Slave thereby Liberated to be henceforth entirely free and exempt from his Service Acknowledged before James Kelso Recorded 2nd January 1797 |
