Anne Arundel County Court Certificates of Freedom, 1831-1844

    Maryland Anne Arundel County to wit
              I William S Green, Clerk of Anne Arundel County Court
do hereby Certify that it hath been proved to my satisfaction
that the bearer hereof named Thomas Davis aged about
twenty two years about five feet six and a half Inches
high brown complexion has a scar on the end of the
second finger of the right hand is one of the persons
manumitted by mary Atwell by deed dated the twelfth
day of april Eighteen hundred and ten, and that he is
the son of nelly, and that he was raised in the
County aforesaid
    Issued the 8th day of November 1844


     State of Maryland Anne Arundel County to wit
              I William S Green, Clerk of Anne Arundel County Court
do hereby Certify that it hath been proved to my satisfaction that
the bearer hereof named Edward Small aged about twenty three
years about five feet one and a half Inches high yellowish
complexion has no perceptible marks is one of the persons
manumitted by James Cheston by deed dated the twenty seventh
day of March Eighteen hundred and forty ^four^ and that he was
raised in the County aforesaid
    Issued the 12 day of November 1844


    State of Maryland Anne Arundel County to wit
              I William S Green, Clerk of Anne Arundel County Court
do hereby Certify that it hath been proved to my satisfaction that
the bearer hereof named George Hobbs aged about twenty four
years about five four and a half Inches high brown Complexion
has a scar on the left cheek is one of the persons manumitted by
James Oberton by deed dated the twenty seventh day of march
Eighteen hundred and forty four and that he was raised in the
County aforesaid
    Issued the 12 day of November 1844


    State of Maryland Anne Arundel County to wit
              I William S Green, Clerk of Anne Arundel County Court
do hereby Certify that it hath been proved to my satisfaction that
the bearer hereof named John Wilson aged about twenty one years
