Anne Arundel County Court Certificates of Freedom, 1831-1844

    Maryland Anne Arundel County to wit
              I William S Green, Clerk of Anne Arundel
County Court do hereby Certify that it hath been proved
to my satisfaction that the bearer hereof named Mary
Hammond aged about twenty two years about five feet
six Inches high black Complexion has a scar on the
right arm near the elbow, was free born, and that she
was raised in the County aforesaid
    Issued the 21 day of October 1842


    Maryland Anne Arundel County to wit
              I William S Green, Clerk of Anne Arundel County
Court do hereby Certify that it hath been proved to my
satisfaction that the bearer hereof named Sally Hammond
aged about twenty years about five feet two Inches high
black Complexion has no perceptible mark or scar,
was free born and that she was raised in the County
aforesaid
    Issued the 21 day of october 1842


    Maryland Anne Arundel County to wit
              I William S Green, Clerk of Anne Arundel
County Court do hereby Certify that it hath been
proved to my satisfaction that the bearer hereof named
Asbury Frances Dorsey aged about twenty five years
about five feet seven and a half Inches high brown
complexion has a small scar on the forehead is one
of the persons manumitted by Amy Harwood by deed
dated the twenty fourth day of may in the year
Eighteen hundred and thirty and that he was
raised in the County aforesaid
    Issued the 23d day of December 1842


    Maryland Anne Arundel County to wit
              I William S Green, Clerk of Anne Arundel
County Court do hereby Certify that it hath been proved
to my satisfaction that the bearer hereof named Benjamin
Thomas aged about twenty Eight years about five feet
Eight and a half Inches high dark Complexion has
a scar over each eye and another near the Corner of the
left eye is one of the persons manumitted by Charles
                                                                      Griffith
