Anne Arundel County Court Certificates of Freedom, 1831-1844

    Maryland Anne Arundel County to wit
              I William S Green, Clerk of Anne Arundel County Court
do hereby Certify that it hath been proved to my satisfaction
that the bearer hereof named John Carroll aged about
thirty six years about five feet seven Inches high black
complexion has a scar on the nose near the Corner of the
left eye is one of the persons manumitted by Benjamin
Thomas by deed dated the Eighteenth day of may in the year
of our Lord one thousand Eight hundred and twenty two,
and that he was raised in the County aforesaid
    Issued the 16 day of march 1841


    Maryland Anne Arundel County to wit
              I William S Green, Clerk of Anne Arundel County Court
do hereby Certify that it hath been proved to my satisfaction
that the bearer hereof named Meers Cappers aged about thirty
five years about five feet five Inches high dark Complexion
has a scar on the left temple and one on the right wrist
is one of the persons manumitted by Benjamin Thomas
by deed dated the Eighteenth day of may in the year of
our Lord one thousand Eight hundred and twenty two
and that he was raised in the County aforesaid
    Issued the 16 day of march 1841


    Maryland Anne Arundel County to wit
              I William S Green, Clerk of Anne Arundel County
Court do hereby Certify that it hath been proved to my
satisfaction that the bearer hereof named Levin Edmonds
aged about thirty four years about five feet three and a
half Inches high dark Complexion has a small scar in the
right eye brow and another on the right wrist is one of the
persons manumitted by Benjamin Thomas by deed dated
the Eighteenth day of may in the year of our Lord one
thousand Eight hundred and twenty two and that he was
raised in the County aforesaid
    Issued the 16 day of march 1841
