Anne Arundel County Court Certificates of Freedom, 1831-1844

Maryland Anne Arundel County to wit:
              I William S Green, Clerk of Anne Arundel County Court
do hereby Certify that it hath been proved to my
satisfaction that the bearer hereof named Maria Cain
aged about seventeen years about five feet three Inches
high bright Complexion has a small scar or mark on
the right cheek bone was free born and that she was
raised in the County aforesaid
    Issued the 19 day of october 1840


Maryland Anne Arundel County to wit   I
William S Green, Clerk of Anne Arundel County
Court do hereby Certify that it hath been proved
to my satisfaction that the Bearer hereof named Samuel
Hardy aged about fifty years about five feet
six inches high yellow Complexion has no
perceptible mark is one of the persons
manumitted by Richard H Battee by deed
dated the fourteenth day of march in the year
of our Lord one thousand Eight hundred and twenty
six and that he was raised in the County aforesaid
    Issued the 28th Octr 1840


Maryland Anne Arundel County to wit

Sophia Hardy aged about fifty years about
five feet high black complexion has no perceptible
marks is one of the persons manumitted by Richard
H Battee by deed dated the fourteenth day of march
in the year of our Lord one thousand Eight hundred
and twenty six and that she was raised in
the County aforesaid
    Issued the 28th Octr 1840
