72 executed by Joseph Selby on the fifth day of January in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and ninety two and that his freedom commenced on the twenty fifth day of December one thousand eight hundred and twelve and that the said negro man Stephen was raised in the County aforesaid Issued the 20.th day of November 1815 Vide folio 27 for old certificate which having been proved to be lost the above certificate granted State of Maryland Anne Arundel County to wit: I hereby Certify to all whom it doth or may concern that it hath been proved to my satisfaction that the bearer hereof a negro woman named Susan aged about thirty four years about five feet three and an half Inches high of a dark complexion small weak looking eyes no perceptible mark was free born and that the said negro woman named Susan was raised in the County aforesaid Issued the 21 day of November 1815 State of Maryland Anne Arundel County Sc I hereby certify to all whom it doth or may concern that it hath been proved to my satisfaction that the bearer hereof a negro woman named Sarah aged about fifty five years about five feet one and an half inches high of a brown complexion with a scar upon the ball of her left thumb and has lost her upper fore teeth is the same person manumitted by Joseph Burneston by deed dated the nineteenth day of January in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and ninety two and that the said negro woman named Sarah was raised in the County aforesaid Issued the 6th day of December 1815 |
