Anne Arundel County Court Certificates of Freedom, 1810-1831

Concern that it hath been proved to my satisfaction
that the bearer hereof named Dinah aged about
thirty two years about five feet one and an
half Inches high dark Complexion has a scar
on the left elbow and another on the fire head
over the left eye is one of the persons manumitted
by Charles Griffith by deed dated the seventh day
of September Eighteen hundred and Eighteen that
his freedom Commenced in the year Eighteen hundred
and twenty seven, and that she was raised in the
County aforesaid
    Issued the 27th day of march 1827


    Maryland, Anne Arundel County to wit
              I hereby Certify to all whom it doth
or may Concern that it hath been proved to my
satisfaction that the bearer hereof named John
Brown aged about Twenty two years about five
feet four and an half Inches high black
Complexion a small scar on the nose was free
born and raised in the County aforesaid
    Issued the 2d day of april 1827


    Maryland, Anne Arundel County to wit
              I hereby Certify to all whom it doth or
may concern that it hath been proved to my
satisfaction that the bearer hereof named Maria
Brown aged about Twenty years about five
feet two Inches high black Complexion a scar
on the right side of the neck was free born and
raised in the County aforesaid
    Issued the 2d day of april 1827
