Anne Arundel County Court Certificates of Freedom, 1810-1831

Maryland, Anne Arundel County to wit   I hereby
Certify to all whom it doth or may concern that it
hath been proved to my satisfaction that the bearer
hereof a negro man named David aged about
Twenty seven years about five feet five Inches
and an half high black Complexion a small
scar upon the nose is one of the Identical persons manumitted
by Sarah Meriweather by deed dated the 25th day
of March 1809 that his freedom Commenced in
the year Eighteen hundred and twenty four and
that he was raised in the County aforesaid
    Issued the 18th day of April 1826


    Maryland, Anne Arundel County to wit
              I hereby Certify to all whom it doth
or may concern That it hath been proved to
my satisfaction that the bearer hereof a negro
man named Andrew aged about Thirty six
years about five feet seven Inches high
black Complexion no perceptible mark is one
of the persons manumitted by Martha P
Childs by deed of manumission dated the
fifteenth day of June in the year of our Lord
one thousand Eight hundred and twenty
two, that his freedom Commenced on the
first day of January, Eighteen hundred
and twenty six, and that he was raised
in the County aforesaid
    Issued the 2d day of may 1826


    Maryland, Anne Arundel County to wit
              I hereby Certify to all whom it doth
or may concern that it hath been proved to
