115 State of Maryland Anne Arundel County to wit: I hereby Certify to all whom it doth or may concern that it hath been proved to my satisfaction that the bearer hereof a negro man named William Kent aged about twenty three years about five feet seven Inches high dark Complexion no perceptible mark was free born; and that the said William Kent was raised in the County aforesaid Issued the 14th day of May 1818 State of Maryland Anne Arundel County sc I hereby Certify to all whom it doth or may concern that it hath been proved to my satisfaction that the bearer hereof a negro man named Nace (commonly called Nace Carter) aged about thirty six years about five feet five Inches high dark complexion no perceptible mark is the Identical person manumitted by Charles Pettebone by deed dated the twenty sixth day of January Eighteen hundred and five, that his freedom commenced on the twenty fifth day of December one thousand Eight hundred and seven; and that the said negro man named Nace was raised in the County aforesaid Issued the 20th day of May 1818 State of Maryland Anne Arundel County to wit I hereby Certify to all whom it doth or may concern that it hath been proved to my satisfaction that the bearer hereof a negro man named James Turner aged about twenty six years about five feet seven and an half Inches high of a brown Complexion with a small scar on the back of the left leg was free born, and raised in the County aforesaid Issued the 22d day of May 1818 |
