twenty third day of April in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred
and seven in Liber I G N.o 2 folio 388 and that the said William Hammond
by his said Will among other things did devise and direct that all the
remainder of his negroes should be free twenty five years after his death
together with their increase and issue
    And I do further Certify That it hath been proved by such Testimony
as is Satisfactory to me that the Bearer hereof negro Bill Jones whose height
is about five feet ten & three quarter inches; whose age is about thirty nine
years; whose complexion is dark; and who as appears by the said Will and
Testimony became free in the month of April Eighteen hundred and
thirty two is the identical person who was manumitted or freed as
aforesaid, and that the said negro Bill Jones was raised in Anne Arundel
County and has a scar on his right ear
                            In Testimony whereof I have hereunto subscribed my
        (Seal)           name and affixed the seal of my Office this seventeenth
                            day of April in the year of our Lord one thousand
                            Eight hundred and thirty two

The State of Maryland Anne Arundel County to Wit
    I hereby Certify to all whom it doth or may concern that on an
Examination of the Records and Papers in the office of the Register of Wills
for Anne Arundel County it appears that the last Will and Testament
of William Hammond late of the said County aforesaid, deceased, bearing
date the twenty fourth day of March in the year of our Lord
one thousand Eight hundred and seven was proved and recorded in the
said office on the twenty third day of April in the year of our Lord
one thousand eight hundred and seven in Liber I G N.o 2 folio 388
 and that the said William Hammond by his said will among other things
did devise and direct that all the remainder of his negroes should be free
twenty five years after his death together with their increase and issue
        And I do further Certify That it hath been proved by such Testimony
as is Satisfactory to me that the Bearer hereof negro Luckey Smith
whose height is about five feet two & three quarter inches; whose
age is about thirty five years; whose complexion is dark; and who as
appears by the said Will and Testimony became free in the month of
April Eighteen hundred and thirty two is the identical person who was
manumitted or freed as aforesaid and that the said negro Luckey Smith
was raised in Anne Arundel County
                            In Testimony whereof I have hereunto subscribed
                            my name and affixed the seal of my Office this seventeenth
