The State of Maryland Anne Arundel
County to Wit I hereby Certify to all whom it doth or may concern that on an examination of the Records and Papers in the office of the Register of Wills for Anne Arundel County it appears that the last Will and Testament of William Drury late of the County aforesaid, deceased, bearing date the ninth day of October in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and Twenty two was proved and recorded in the said office on the Fourth day of June in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty three in Liber T J J N.o 1 folio 167 and that the said William Drury by his said will among other things did devise and direct that his slaves should serve his wife Mary Eleanor for the term of ten years from his death or from the intermarriage or death of his said Wife whichsoever should first happen and then to be free And I do further Certify That it hath been proved by such Testimony as is satisfactory to me that the Bearer hereof negro Nat Smith whose height is about five feet ten and a half inches; whose age is about thirty Eight years; whose complexion is dark; and who as appears by the said Will and Testimony became free on the intermarriage of the widow of the said William Drury with a Certain Aaron Meekins about four years ago is the identical person who was manumitted or freed as aforesaid and has scar on his under lip and one over his right eye In Testimony whereof I have hereunto subscribed my (Seal) name and affixed the seal of my Office this third day of October in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty one Thomas T. Simmons Register of Wills for Anne Arundel County The State of Maryland Anne Arundel County to Wit I hereby Certify to all whom it doth or may concern That on an examination of the Records and papers in the Office of the Register of Wills for Anne Arundel County it appears that the last Will and testament of Ann R. Plummer late of the County aforesaid deceased bearing date the 5th day of September in the year of Our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty six was proved and recorded in the said Office on the thirtyeth day of September in the year of Our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty six in Liber T. H. H. N.o 1 folio 298 and that the said Ann R Plummer by her said Will among other things did devise and direct that her Negro man Jerry should serve her niece Mary Elizabeth Holliday Warfield for five years and then to be free And I do further Certify That it hath been proved by such testimony as is Satisfactory to me That the bearer hereof Negro Jerry whose height is five feet five and a quarter Inches; whose age is about thirty years whose complexion is dark; and who as appears by the said |
