thousand Eight hundred and fifteen in Liber I. G. N.o 3 folio 111 all her negro
slaves should be manumitted and set free after the expiration of their time
for which they may be engaged at her death and that the said Frances
Yates by his said will among other things did devise and direct that all
her negro slaves should be free manumitted and set free after the expiration
of their time for which they may be engaged at her death
        And I do further Certify That it hath been proved by such Testimony
as is satisfactory to me that the Bearer hereof negro Eliza Ann
whose height is about five feet three inches; whose age is about twenty
Eighteen years; whose complexion is dark; and who as appears by
the said Will and Testimony became free at the death of the aforesaid
Frances Yates and that the said negro Eliza Ann was raised in Anne
Arundel County and has a scar on the right side of her neck
                            In Testimony whereof I have hereunto subscribed
        (Seal)           my name and affixed the seal of my office this twenty
                            fourth day of April in the year of our Lord one
                            thousand eight hundred and thirty two

The State of Maryland Anne Arundel County to Wit:
    I hereby Certify to all whom it doth or may concern that on an
examination of the Records and Papers in the Office of the Register
of Wills for Anne Arundel County it appears that the last Will and
Testament of Richard Merriken late of the County aforesaid, deceased,
bearing date the twenty ninth day of July in the year of our Lord
one thousand Eight hundred and fourteen was proved and recorded
in the said office on the first day of December in the year of our
Lord in the year of our Lord one thousand Eight hundred and fourteen
in Liber I. G. N.o 3 folio 73 &c and that the said Richard Merriken
by his said will among other things did devise and direct that
the increase of his negro woman Anne should serve until the
first day of January Eighteen hundred and twenty four and then to
be free
        And I do further Certify That it hath been proved by such
Testimony as is satisfactory to me that the Bearer hereof negro
Anne whose height is about five feet one inch; whose age is about
thirty eight years; whose complexion is dark; and who as appears
by the said Will and Testimony became free on the first day of January
Eighteen hundred and twenty four is the identical person who
was manumitted or freed as aforesaid and that the said negro Anne
