86 In Testimony whereof I hereto set my hand and affix the seal of Baltimore County Court this 20.th day of (seals placed) November 1845 A. W. Bradford Clk Recorded the 6 day of January 1846 costs 75 cts paid Ex.d.d.d
sum of one hundred and fifty dollars current money to us in hand paid by Thornton F. Robinson & George H Wood of the same County and State as aforesaid at and before the ensealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof we the said John T. Starlings do hereby acknowledge have granted bargained and sold and by these presents do grant bargain and sell unto the said Thornton F. Robinson & George H Wood their Heirs Executors administrators & assigns the following property viz our two Negro Girles Slaves for life Girl Airry aged sixteen years and Girl Sarah aged twelve years old both of sound & healthy bodies and rational minds To have and To Hold the said negro Girls as above named and described to the said Thornton F. Robinson & George H Wood the Heirs Executors administrators and assigns forever and we the said John T. Starlings & Francis M Starlings for ourselves our heirs Executors administrators and assigns the aforesaid property to the aforesaid Thornton F. Robinson & George H Wood their Executors administrators Heirs & Assigns and against all and every other person or persons whomsoever shall & will warrant and and forever defend by these presents. Provided nevertheless that in case John T. Starlings shall so demean himself in a peaceable or duly way towards George D Lyles in particular & towards all our good citizens in general that he shall not forfeit break or violate his Recognizance to maintain the peace for one year that his securities do not suffer the penalty of the sum or sums recognized for the said John T. Starlings of one hundred and fifty dollars current money to the State of Maryland as aforesaid then this bill of sale and every matter and thing therein contained and expressed shall be void and of none effect. It being the intention and design that the said Thornton F. Robinson and George H Wood be indemnified for the responsibility to the State to guarantee the public peace & safety that they pay not the penalty as aforesaid &s. In witness whereof the said John T.
