whereof I the said William Linthicum do hereby acknowledge have granted bargained sold and delivered and by these presents do grant bargain sell and deliver unto the said George Waters during his natural life and then to be free and discharged from all manner of servitude my negro woman Mary. To have and to hold the aforesaid negro slave above bargained and sold or mentioned and intended so to be to the said George Waters during his life and then to be discharged from servitude And I the said William Linthicum for myself my heirs executors and administrators all and singular the said negro slave Mary unto the said George Waters during the time aforesaid against me the said Wm Linthicum my heirs executors and administrators and against all and every other person or persons whatsoever shall and will warrant and forever defend by these presents In witness whereof the said Wm Linthicum have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this twenty first day of November eighteen hundred and fifty one William Linthicum (seal) Acknowledged before Wm Hawkins At the foot of the foregoing was thus written to wit And at the same time and place also appeared George Waters the grantee named in the annexed Bill of sale and made oath that the consideration set forth in the said bill of sale is true and bona fide as therein set forth. Sworn before Wm Hawkins Recorded December 1st 1851 costs 50cts paid
the same and also in consideration of the further sum of one dollar current money to him the said Stewart paid by the said John Basil Jr as attorney as aforesaid at and before the sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged have granted bargained and sold and by these presents do grant bargain and sell unto the said John Basil Jr as attorney as aforesaid all the goods household stuff implements and furniture hereinafter particularly described to wit one mahogany side board, one dozen common chars, one pine Table with leaves one do (ironing table) one old sofa, one looking glass, one round walnut table, two stoves one radiator |
