and forty five before me the Subscriber a justice of the peace in and for
said County personally appears Andrew E. Dill he being known to me
to be the person who is named and described as and professing to be a
party to the aforegoing bill of sale and doth acknowledge the said
bill of sale or instrument of writing to be his act and deed

          In Testimony whereof I hereunto subscribe my name on the
day and year aforesaid                                     Chs Hodges

Bill of Sale from Edward A. Davis to
Ann Hansaw of sundry arcticles of
personal property dated the third
day of July eighteen hundred and forty five
    Know all men by these presents
that I Edward A Davis of Anne
Arundel County in the State of
Maryland for and in consideration
of the sum of six hundred dollars
current money to me in hand paid by Ann Hanshaw of Anne Arundel County
and state aforesaid at and before the sealing and delivering of these presents
the receipt whereof I the said Edward A Davis do hereby acknowledge have
granted bargained and sold and by these presents do grant bargain and
sell unto the said Ann Hanshaw her Executors administrators and
assigns all the goods household stuff implements and furniture hereinafter
particularly mentioned that is to say fifteen beds beadsteads and
bedding seven dozen chairs three settees four bureaus three sideboards
six dining tables eight small tables sixteen washstands basons and pitchers
ten looking glasses large and small six dozen knives and forks four sets of
china and odd pieces two dozen candlesticks and lamps twelve waiters
large and small twelve Andirons shovel and tongs and fenders to suit
two large chests and from trunks four stoves two hundred yards of Carpet
together with all the kitchen furniture in the house situate in West
Street in the City of Annapolis and now in the occupation of the said
Edward A. Davis all and singular which said goods and chattels are now
remaining standing and being in a certain messuage or tenement
situate in West Street in the City of Annapolis and now in the occupation
of the said Edward A Davis.  To Have and To Hold all and singular
the said goods household and kitchen stuff and furniture and other
the premises above bargained and sold or mentioned and intended
so to be to the said Ann Hanshaw her executors administrators and
assigns forever and I the said Edward A. Davis for myself my heirs
Executors and administrators all and singular the said goods household
and kitchen stuff and furniture and other the premises unto the
said Ann Hanshaw her Executors administrators and assigns against
me the said Edward A. Davis my executors and administrators and
