appeared John H Hopkins party grantee mentioned in the within Bill of sale and
made oath on the Holy evangely of Almighty God that the consideration set forth in
Said Bill of Sale is Bona fide true as therein set forth

Anne Arundel County To wit   I certify that the grantee in this Bill of Sale this
day paid one dollar being the duty chargeable by Law on this Instrument of
writing the receipt whereof is hereon endorsed agreeably to the act of assembly
passed at December session 1846 ch 61   Given under my hand this fifth
day of June 1850

Know all Men by these presents that I Michael C
Sparrow of Anne Arundel County State of Maryland
for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred
and ten dollars current money whereof twenty five
dollars to me in hand cash paid by William N
Thomas and John W Greenwell of the other part I the said Michael
C Sparrow do hereby acknowledge have granted bargained and sold
and by these presents do grant bargain and sell unto the said
William N. Thomas and John W Greenwell their Executors administrators
and assigns my negro woman Esther and now in the possession
of the said WIlliam N. Thomas and John W Greenwell   To Have and
To Hold the said negro woman above bargained and sold or mentioned
and intended to be the said William N. Thomas and John W Greenwell
their Executors and assigns forever and I the said Michael C Sparrow
for myself my heirs executors and administrators all and singular
the said negro woman forever   The condition of the above obligation
is such that if the said William N. Thomas and John W Greenwell
Shall well and truly pay unto or cause to be paid unto the Said
Michael C Sparrow the above sum of Eighty five dollars with
legal Interest from the date of these presents in the space of ninety
days than this obligation to be void otherwise to remain of full force
and virtue in Law In testimony I the said Michael C. Sparrow
have hereunto set my hand and seal this first day of May in the
year of our Lord Eighteen hundred and fifty

State of Maryland Anne Arundel County to wit   On this 31 day of
May 1850 personally appeared before me the subscriber a Justice of
the peace in and for said County Michael C Sparrow and
acknowledges the above Bill of Sale to be his act and deed
