and having in his possession a certain negro Boy Brice a slave for a term of years to serve the said Stevens Gambril to the full time and Expiration of the twentieth day of June in the year Eighteen hundred and sixty two and then be free And Whereas by reason of the bad conduct of the said negro Boy in frequently running away from the service of the said Gambrill on application of the said Stevens Gambril by petition in writing to the Orphans Court did on the Twenty Sixth day of February Eighteen hundred and fifty order and adjudge that said negro Boy Brice serve his master and owner Stevens Gambril two years and a half in addition to his term of Service that is that he serve until the twentieth day of December Eighteen hundred and Sixty four in order to reimburse his Master the said petitioner for losses caused by his running away at Different times and further ordered and adjudged that the said Stevens Gambrill be and he is hereby Authorised and empowered to sell said negro Boy Brice in the State of Maryland And Whereas the said Stevens Gambril hath agreed to sell said negro Boy to the said Daniel Duvall with a view of this not being removed beyond the limits of the State of Maryland Now This Indenture Witnesseth that for and in consideration of the premises and of the sum of three hundred and fifty dollars in hand paid to the said Stevens Gambril by the said Daniel Duvall at and before the sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged the said Stevens Gambril hath granted bargained and sold and by these presents does grant bargain and sell unto the said Daniel Duvall his executors administrators and assigns all his the said Gambril right title and interest in and to the services of the said negro Boy To Have and To Hold the said negro Boy Brice hereby bargained and sold unto the said Daniel Duvall his executors administrators or assigns for and during the period limited by the herein before recited order of the said Court as fully and as entirely as the said Gambril had or claimed any right or interest in and to said negro Boy In Witness whereof the said parties hereto have set their hands and affixed their seals the day and Year first herein before written Signed sealed & delivered in the presence of S.
