24 and forty five between Benjamin E. Gantt of Anne Arundel County State of Maryland of the one part and Rignal D Woodward of the same County & state of the other part. Whereas the said Benj E. Gantt stands justly indebted to the said Rignal D Woodward in the sum of one hundred dollars and whereas the said Benj E. Gantt in order to secure the payment of the said sum of one hundred dollars due the said Rignal D Woodard is willing to execute these presents. Now this Indenture witnesseth that the said Benjamin E Gantt for and in consideration of the premises and of the sum of one dollar current money to him in hand paid by the said Rignal D. Woodward at and before the sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath granted bargained and sold and by these presents doth grant bargain and sell unto the said Rignal D Woodward his executors administrators and assigns one dark sorrel horse & one white horse now in the possession of the said Benjamin E. Gantt. To Have and To Hold the said Sorrel Horse and white Horse above bargained and sold to the said Rignal D Woodard his Executors administrators and assigns forever. And the said Benj E Gantt for himself his heirs executors and administrators the said dark sorrel horse and white horse unto the said Rignal D Woodyard his executors administrators or assigns against him the said Benj E Gantt his executors and administrators and against all and every other person or persons whatsoever shall and will warrant and forever defend by these presents. In witness whereof the said Benjamin E Gantt hath hereunto set his hand and seal the day and year herein before written Signed sealed & delivered Benj E. Gantt (seal) in presence of S. Gambrill At the foot of the foregoing was thus written to wit State of Maryland Anne Arundel County to wit On this twenty sixth day of April 1845 before me the Subscriber a justice of the peace in and for said County personally appeared Benjamin E. Gantt and acknowledged the aforegoing instrument of writing to be his act and deed according to the true intent and meaning thereof and the act of Assembly in such case made and provided Recorded the 9.th day of May 1845 S. Gambrill cost $.87½
